Squared Up Barbershop is located at 4010 Oferral St, in Capstone Plaza in Hattiesburg, MS, known to locals as "Hub City". The barbershop was created in the mind of young entrepreneur, Chris Goree, who aspired to share his passion and skill as a barber. His vision was to create a barbershop with a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere that catered to the wide array of individuals he hoped to serve. Backing his vision, were supportive family, friends, and mentors that encouraged and cultivated the vision. On July 17 of 2017, that vision was made real. Thanks to this vision and an elite team of barbers, Squared Up Barbershop has now become the grooming haven to young and old, men and women of diverse nationalities, military, students, and clients on various career paths.
At Squared Up, edgy meets classy, curly hair meets straight, and are all tamed by the buzz of clippers and the glide of straight razors. We welcome you to experience comfort that the sofas and tunes ensue as you are on your way to feeling and looking good while being you.

Yes! Squared Up Barbershop offers men's haircuts, women's haircuts, and children's haircuts right here in Hattiesburg, MS. Our barbers also have experience with children and young adults with autism. We offer a list of professional and affordable services such as beard grooming/trimming, shampoos, eyebrow waxing and nasal waxing, clipper and shear haircuts, straight razor shave, toupee maintenance, textured haircuts, and special pricing for military haircuts as well as senior haircuts.

THE BARBERS
Chris Goree
Barber/ Shop Owner
Chris Goree began his journey toward becoming a barber while working long hours overnight as a plant supervisor. After shifts, the eager dreamer would make his daily commute to school in pursuit of his passion, never mind his lack of sleep. It was then he began to fully realize his love for cutting hair, meeting new people, and making each individual that shared his chair feel rejuvenated. After becoming a licensed barber, a series of job posts came and went. However, Squared Up Barbershop began brewing in the mind of the young barber. Within that time frame he was mentored and employed at a couple of barbershops and his skill began to compound. He was looking for another booth to rent when he was connected to a business owner who had an available space. Not long after, Chris Goree became the founder and owner of Squared Up Barbershop.

Cameron Smith
Barber
Cameron's love for barbering began well before his enrollment. It began with cutting hair within his own neighborhood as favors for close friends and family. With encouragement from a relative, Cameron decided it was time to receive further education and skill regarding the trade. He wanted his hobby to become his craft. To follow-up the decision, Cameron enrolled at Pearl River Community College. His love for cutting hair has landed him a position at Squared Up Barbershop. Cameron's clients are always welcomed with a smile, gentle conversation, and crafted skill.
Joseph Howze
Barber
J. Howze has been a part of the Squared Up Team since 2019. He got his start as a barber student hailing from Pearl River Community College. Prior to acquiring the skill, J. Howze favored drawing. His artistry since etched its way into to every cut design, line, and taper. J. Howze is a vetted asset to Squared Up with design and fade being a specialty. He is loved by a cliental that appreciates his artistry, skill for the craft, and warm conversation.

Zachary Hampton
Barber
New recruit, Zach Hampton joined the Team in 2025. Zach graduated from the PRCC barbering program after becoming a marine with auto specialties. Prior to his studies, Zach showed promise and gained experience with grooming. His ability to work with his hands and pay attention to detail has made him an outstanding addition to the industry of Barbering and to Squared Up Barbershop.
